development and execution of innovative fashion accessories products. August Accessories products can be found in major store chains around the world under its own labels and private label for other world-renowned brands. By utilizing this extensive experience in street wear and modern fashion, HEX draws on the strength of August Accessories’ history and channels it in an innovative new direction.

Founders Dan Maravilla and Trent Valladares met in their high-school years in Southern California. Both musicians, they cut their teeth in the performance and marketing of musical groups in Los Angeles. After years in the music and art scene, they decided to work together in a small, start-up, family business that grew into August Accessories. Over time spent designing and marketing for various brands under license their interest in defining their own brand and statement grew. In 2010, that brand was born, and that brand is HEX.

“HEX’S goal is to connect technology with fashion by pairing gadgets with unique and attractive solutions” says Maravilla. “Products are designed with equal parts fashion and tech-readiness in their DNA.” Take the HEX watchbands for example; available in plastic, leather and metal variations and are designed to hold an iPod Nano that can be worn just like a watch.

The HEX line, which also includes an extensive selection of computer-ready backpacks, tote’s, messenger bags and sleeves, is perfect for the connected generation. HEX also offers iPhone wallets, case protectors and the popular ‘Solo Wallet’ iPhone/cardholder.

Valladares adds, “It’s a new time.” “One where our lives and our electronics are intertwined.” “We live in a world where our electronics are not novelties, but necessities as much a part of our style and personality as our clothing or our taste in music.”

HEX already has some exciting collaborations with The Hundreds, Far East Movement and skateboarder Mike Mo Capaldi. Look for more colabs in the future!

From Nick Visconti — If my time in this industry has taught me anything, it is to “expect the unexpected.” In the world of action sports, extreme progression quickly devalues what was once regarded as exceptional. What does this process look like? The exceptional becomes the expected, the expected becomes the standard, and the standard becomes monotonous and mundane. How then does a media platform, endemic brand, or professional snowboarder assault this vicious cycle? Do what is unexpected.

This season I have been working on an exclusive TransWorld SNOWboarding web-series and video project with intent to fuse web, video and print media. However, due to some unexpected events and the limited snow season, this project has been reinvented. My full rail video part Nick Visconti’s “ReCreation,” hosted by TransWorld, and proudly presented by Arbor Snowboards and Arnette Eyewear will be released at the pinnacle of snowboard web traffic, March 7th. The release will shock and startle those viewers whose minds are limited by tradition.

Wick Winder is proud to announce that they are the exclusive distributor for Eswic in Canada.

As an independent lifestyle brand, ESWIC re-invents timeless easy-to-wear basics for the lifestyle market with a fashion forward twist. At ESWIC, we evolve the essential elements of style with forward-thinking design and high quality apparel. Our commitment to upholding the highest standards poises ESWIC to expand beyond the boundaries of the action sports market as a unique, global lifestyle brand.

In ESWIC’s DNA is the synergy of athletes and artists. The dynamic bonds between pro athletes and creative professionals creates a compelling story vital to ESWIC’s retail success. Brand Founder and CEO Jimmy Arrighi – who spent over a decade at one of the industry’s top lifestyle companies, from its garage days to its eventual corporate sale – is onboard to grow ESWIC. ESWIC’s core skate team, creative innovators, and market savvy direction, elevates apparel to the next level.
Eswic is also proud to announce the addition of their skate team: Donovon Piscopo, Dakota Servold, Stevie Perez, James Hardy, Cairo Foster, Ed Templeton, & Leo Romero.

“After knowing Jimmy for a decade I am very excited to be a part of his new project. In a challenging and changing market a brand like Eswic and its story become very relevant.” Said Phil Medwid, Wick Winder co-founder.

Arbor Snowboards is proud to welcome Curtis Woodman to their snowboard team. Woodman was born in Sacramento, California and currently resides in Truckee, California. “I’ve been a Curtis Woodman fan since the Neoproto days and I’m fired up to be working with him now,” says Arbor team director, Brad Farmer. “Curtis has a snowboarding ability and style that most can only dream of. If last season is any indication of where he’s headed, it’s going to be exciting to watch over the next couple of years. I believe he will be an amazing leader of the Arbor ‘Roots’ snowboard program and I can’t wait to see what he does in the backcountry this season.”

“I have honestly heard that I should ride for Arbor more times than I can count and I feel blessed to be a part of such an amazing family of snowboarders,” says Woodman. “Arbor is raw and environmentally friendly, what else could I want from a brand?” Curtis is a big fan of Arbor’s traditional wood topsheet look. “There’s nothing better than looking down at a beautiful piece of wood underneath your feet. I like being in my element on my Arbor Element snowboard.”
Look for Woodman to be filming for a major film project this coming season. He will be riding Arbor’s Blacklist, Draft and Element RX snowboards as well as spending a season testing the Arbor Abacus splitboard that’s due to be released in 2013.

After a long drive and by sheer serendipity, they find a driving guide which leads to a road nestled in the mountain range nearby. Turns out the pavement is super burly with huge cracks across the road the entire way down. After the impromptu session is over, the team rests their heads in Mammoth Lakes in preparation to skate the area the following day. Days 2 and 3 will be featured in the in episode of the Get Elevated Tour.
